Wesley Clyde Grindstaff (Wes):

Drums and Vocals

Marcel: Guitar and Vocals

Wes is a proud native of the beautiful mountains of East TN & has been playing drums since the ripe age of 2, when he would get out the pots, pans, coffee cans, & wooden spoons. His parents could tell that the boy had rhythm and got him his first ‘play’ kit when he was 3. It didn’t take long for him to wear them out and they knew it was time to upgrade. They bought him his first extremely used semi-pro set up, and the rest is history.

Some of his biggest drumming influences include: John Bonham, Louie Bellson, Joe Smyth, Bill Kreutzmann, Barriemore Barlow, Terry Bozzio, among many others.

Wes began playing drums with his first touring band The Yard Apes in 1993 at the age of 16. Since then he has enjoyed playing quite a diverse range of music from big band to heavy metal. Wes is also an accomplished acoustic guitarist and vocalist whom at the age of 12 was invited by Joe and Janette Carter to open a few shows at the Carter Fold in Hilton’s, VA. He describes this as a very humbling and honorable experience that he takes with him every time he steps foot on any stage whether it be your back yard or a concert hall, as you will notice with his stage presence and persona.

He is best described as a good ole’ country boy who wants to make sure we all have a great time. Wes now happily holds the position as the drummer of The Jarvis Jenkins Band and is proud to be playing with such seasoned musicians and great people.
