A seasoned musician and the lead guitar player that started the Jarvis Jenkins Band in south Florida in 1995. Since then he has played many Blues Festivals and has had the pleasure to play with Derek Trucks Band, Stephan Wolf, Albert Collins, Tinsley Ellis, Rick Darenger, Walter Trout, and Paula and the Pontiacs.

Stu’s specialty is the slide guitar. Many of his fans seek him out for his amazing slide work, hence the name Slide’n Stu.

The name “Jarvis Jenkins” comes from an old black man Stu met in the beginning of his career that showed him some slide guitar licks that he plays to this day. Some of Stu’s influences are Duane Allman, T-Bone Walker, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Miles Davis, Johnny Winter and Roy Buchanan. Stu Benjamin has since relocated to the beautiful mountains of Asheville, NC and has recruited musicians from all over the United States for the making of the new Jarvis Jenkins Band.
